Mansfield Canine Centre Social Sessions Terms & Conditions
Mansfield Canine Centre Ltd
Effective from 1 October 2026
Version 1.1
These service-specific Terms & Conditions apply to all Mansfield Canine Centre social sessions, including Puppy Play sessions and Breed Playdates.
These terms should be read together with the Mansfield Canine Centre General Booking Terms & Conditions. Where these terms deal specifically with Social Sessions, these service-specific terms take priority.
-
Social Session suitability
Our Social Sessions are designed for friendly, sociable dogs who are comfortable interacting and playing with other dogs.
These sessions are not suitable for dogs who are aggressive, significantly reactive, extremely nervous or unable to comfortably participate in a group environment.
Owners must provide accurate information about their dog's behaviour and must tell Mansfield Canine Centre before attending if their dog has previously shown aggression, significant reactivity, resource guarding or other behaviour which could create a risk to another dog or person.
Private services such as Woof & Tumble Soft Play are available for dogs who require their own space, including nervous or reactive dogs.
-
Puppy Play Sessions
Puppy Play sessions are for puppies under 9 months of age.
Where Puppy Play sessions are divided by size or weight, customers must book the session appropriate for their puppy at the time of attendance.
Puppies should already be comfortable enough around other dogs to take part in a group play environment. Puppy Play is intended to provide positive social experiences and is not a behavioural rehabilitation or training session for dogs displaying significant fear, anxiety, reactivity or aggression.
-
Breed Playdates
Breed Playdates are intended for the breed or breed group advertised for each individual session.
Relevant crosses are welcome where stated in the session description.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that their dog is appropriate for the advertised Breed Playdate before booking.
As with all Social Sessions, Breed Playdates are only suitable for friendly, sociable dogs who are comfortable interacting with other dogs.
-
Dog health
Dogs attending Social Sessions must be fit and well enough to participate in active group play.
Dogs must not attend if they are unwell, have a potentially contagious illness or condition, or have an injury or medical condition that could reasonably be made worse by play.
Dogs attending should be appropriately vaccinated for their age and kept up to date with appropriate flea, worm and other parasite treatment.
Females who are in season must not attend Social Sessions.
Dogs do not need to be neutered to attend unless a particular medical or behavioural reason makes attendance unsuitable.
Mansfield Canine Centre may refuse entry or stop a dog's participation if we reasonably believe that continuing would be unsafe or unsuitable.
-
Arrival, leads and entering the play area
Dogs must remain on a suitable lead and under appropriate control when entering, leaving or moving through Mansfield Canine Centre.
Please do not allow your dog to approach another dog outside the designated Social Session area unless invited to do so.
Dogs should remain on lead until a member of staff confirms that they may be released into the play area.
Customers must follow staff instructions when entering and leaving the session to help prevent dogs meeting unexpectedly in doorways, reception areas or other shared spaces.
-
Supervision and owner responsibility
The person responsible for each dog must remain present throughout the session and actively supervise their dog.
Mansfield Canine Centre staff may help oversee the session, but responsibility for controlling and supervising each individual dog remains with its owner or accompanying responsible person.
Owners must intervene when reasonably necessary and must follow staff instructions relating to their dog's behaviour or safety.
Dogs must not be allowed to repeatedly harass, mount, intimidate, corner or excessively pursue another dog.
If a dog becomes aggressive, anxious, excessively overstimulated or otherwise unsuitable for continued group play, the owner may be asked to place the dog on lead, allow the dog time away from the group or remove the dog from the session.
Mansfield Canine Centre reserves the right to end a dog's participation where we reasonably believe this is necessary for the safety or welfare of the dogs or people present.
-
Normal canine play and interaction
Customers should understand that normal canine play can involve running, chasing, barking, mouthing, wrestling, physical contact and other energetic behaviour.
Minor knocks, scratches or similar injuries can occur during normal play even where dogs are behaving appropriately.
Owners should monitor their own dog's body language and behaviour and should tell a member of staff if they have any concerns.
No dog can be guaranteed to get along with every other dog, even where all dogs have previously behaved appropriately in social situations.
-
Injuries and veterinary costs
Participation in a group dog-play environment carries an inherent risk of injury, even where reasonable precautions are taken and dogs are behaving appropriately.
Owners remain responsible for any veterinary examination, treatment, medication or other veterinary costs arising from injury to their dog while attending a Social Session, unless the injury was caused by negligence on the part of Mansfield Canine Centre.
Customers are responsible for deciding whether their dog requires veterinary attention following an incident or injury.
Where an incident occurs during a session, customers should notify a member of staff as soon as reasonably possible so that the circumstances can be recorded.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability which Mansfield Canine Centre cannot lawfully exclude or limit.
-
People attending Social Sessions
All human attendees at Puppy Play sessions and Breed Playdates must be aged 16 or over.
The number of people attending with each dog must not exceed the number permitted by the booking unless Mansfield Canine Centre has agreed otherwise in advance.
Families wishing to visit with younger children are welcome to consider one of our private Woof & Tumble Soft Play sessions instead.
Attendees must behave appropriately around the dogs and must not chase, grab, deliberately excite or interfere with dogs in a way that could create a safety risk.
-
Equipment and care of the facility
Social Sessions take place within our Woof & Tumble Soft Play environment and dogs may have access to play equipment, toys and other activities.
Owners are responsible for deciding whether individual activities or pieces of equipment are appropriate for their dog's size, age, confidence and physical ability.
Dogs must not be forced or encouraged to use equipment where they appear frightened, uncomfortable or physically unable to do so safely.
Normal wear and tear is expected. However, dogs must not be allowed to deliberately or repeatedly chew, bite, pull apart, dig at or otherwise cause excessive damage to equipment, toys or the facility.
Owners must promptly redirect or stop destructive behaviour.
A reasonable repair, cleaning or replacement charge may be applied where excessive or avoidable damage is caused through deliberate misuse, negligence or failure to appropriately supervise a dog.
Please report any damaged or unsafe equipment to a member of staff.
-
Food, treats and toys
Food and treats should only be used during Social Sessions where it is safe and appropriate to do so.
Customers must not feed another person's dog without the owner's permission.
Owners should be particularly careful where food, treats or toys could encourage guarding, competition or conflict between dogs.
Mansfield Canine Centre may remove or restrict particular treats, toys or other items during a session where we reasonably believe they are contributing to inappropriate behaviour or creating a safety concern.
-
Toileting and cleanliness
Owners must clean up after their dogs promptly and dispose of waste in the bins provided.
Please tell a member of staff if a dog toilets on, heavily soils or contaminates play equipment or another area requiring additional cleaning or disinfection.
-
Escapes and secure access
Doors and gates must be used carefully to prevent dogs escaping from the secure play area.
Customers must not open an access door or gate while dogs are loose where doing so could allow a dog to escape.
Customers must follow staff instructions regarding entry and exit from the play area.
-
Photography, video and CCTV
Photographs and videos may occasionally be taken during Social Sessions and may be used, where lawful, by Mansfield Canine Centre on our website, social media, advertising or other promotional material.
If you do not want yourself or your dog to be included in photographs or video used for marketing, please tell a member of the Mansfield Canine Centre team before or during your visit.
We will respect reasonable opt-out requests.
CCTV operates at Mansfield Canine Centre for safety, security and operational purposes.
-
Staff discretion and future attendance
Mansfield Canine Centre reserves the right to intervene at any point during a Social Session where reasonably necessary for safety or animal welfare.
A dog may be asked to take a break, be placed on lead or leave the session if their behaviour becomes unsuitable.
Where a dog's behaviour indicates that group Social Sessions may not be appropriate for them, Mansfield Canine Centre may recommend private sessions instead and may refuse future Social Session bookings where reasonably necessary for safety or welfare.
-
