These Terms & Conditions apply to all social sessions at Mansfield Canine Centre, including Puppy Play sessions, Breed Playdates and any other organised group dog play sessions.
By booking and attending a Social Session, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
- Suitability of Dogs
Social Sessions are intended for friendly, sociable dogs that are comfortable interacting with other dogs and people.
Dogs that are known to be aggressive, highly reactive, excessively anxious around other dogs, or otherwise unsuitable for group play must not attend.
Owners are responsible for deciding whether their dog is suitable for the session they are booking.
Mansfield Canine Centre reserves the right to refuse participation or ask a dog to leave a session if we believe their behaviour poses a risk to other dogs or people.
- Owner Responsibility and Supervision
Owners remain fully responsible for their dog throughout the entire session.
Owners must actively supervise their dog and should not rely on Mansfield Canine Centre staff to manage their dog’s behaviour.
If a dog becomes aggressive, anxious, overstimulated, excessively boisterous, repeatedly harasses another dog, or otherwise begins behaving inappropriately, the owner must intervene promptly.
Owners may be asked to temporarily remove their dog from the play area or leave the session completely if their dog is unable to settle or safely continue participating.
- Interaction Between Dogs
Social play naturally involves physical interaction between dogs, including chasing, wrestling, barking and other normal play behaviours.
By attending, owners acknowledge that group dog play carries an inherent risk of accidental injury.
Mansfield Canine Centre cannot guarantee the behaviour of other dogs attending the session.
Owners should remain aware of their own dog’s body language and intervene where necessary.
- Puppies
Where a session is advertised specifically for puppies, dogs must meet the age requirements stated on the booking page.
Puppies should have received appropriate vaccinations before attending communal dog environments.
Owners should consider their puppy’s confidence, energy levels and individual development and allow them breaks from play where necessary.
- Breed Playdates
Breed Playdates are primarily intended for the breed or breed group advertised.
Crossbreeds may attend where they are reasonably related to the advertised breed or group unless otherwise stated.
Breed Playdates are social sessions only. They are not behavioural assessment, training or rehabilitation sessions and are not suitable for dogs requiring controlled socialisation because of aggression or significant reactivity.
- Health
Dogs attending must be in good general health.
Dogs showing signs of infectious illness, including vomiting, diarrhoea, coughing or other potentially contagious symptoms, must not attend.
Dogs with injuries or medical conditions that could be aggravated by group play should not attend unless appropriate veterinary advice has been obtained.
Female dogs in season must not attend Social Sessions.
- Vaccinations and Parasite Control
Owners are responsible for ensuring their dog is appropriately vaccinated and kept up to date with suitable flea, worm and parasite treatment.
Mansfield Canine Centre cannot guarantee that dogs attending have not been exposed to infectious illnesses elsewhere.
- Children and Attendance Limits
Children must be aged 16 or over to attend Social Sessions.
If you would like younger children to attend the Soft Play area, please book one of our private booking options instead.
To help manage overcrowding and ensure sessions remain comfortable and safe, a maximum of 2 people per dog may attend Social Sessions.
- Food, Treats and Toys
Owners should take care when using treats or toys around groups of dogs, as these may cause guarding or competition.
Mansfield Canine Centre may restrict or remove particular toys, treats or equipment if they appear to be causing conflict between dogs.
- Dog Fouling and Cleanliness
Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their own dog during the session and using the waste facilities provided.
Please inform a member of staff if additional cleaning assistance is required.
- Staff and Session Management
Where a member of Mansfield Canine Centre staff is present, their role is to oversee the session rather than take responsibility for individual dogs.
Staff instructions relating to safety must be followed.
Mansfield Canine Centre may pause play, separate dogs, alter the session or ask any dog or person to leave where we consider this necessary for safety or welfare.
No refund will normally be provided where a dog is asked to leave because of inappropriate behaviour.
- Injuries, Damage and Liability
Owners remain responsible for their dog and for any injury, loss or damage caused by their dog.
Owners are responsible for ensuring they have any insurance they consider appropriate for their dog.
Participation in group play is at the owner's own risk. Mansfield Canine Centre will take reasonable precautions in providing the facilities and running sessions but cannot eliminate the inherent risks associated with dogs interacting freely.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
- Booking and Cancellation
Places must be booked in advance through the Mansfield Canine Centre booking system.
Bookings are subject to our general booking and cancellation terms.
Places cannot automatically be transferred to another dog or customer without prior agreement.
- Photography and Video
Mansfield Canine Centre may occasionally take photographs or videos during sessions for promotional purposes.
Please notify Mansfield Canine Centre prior to your session or at the session if you would like to opt out of being included in any photos or videos.
- CCTV
CCTV is in operation throughout Mansfield Canine Centre for security, safety and incident-management purposes.
Footage may be reviewed where necessary in connection with an incident, complaint, safety concern or security matter.
- Right to Refuse Participation
Mansfield Canine Centre reserves the right to refuse or terminate participation where we reasonably believe that a dog, owner or visitor presents a safety, welfare or behavioural concern.
Decisions regarding the safe operation of the session are final.
